Love Without Qualification

God has always wanted a covenant relationship with His people that would enable them to increase in every area of their lives.

In establishing a covenant with Abraham, God made His thoughts clear in Genesis 12:1-2:

“Now in Haran the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to
the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you with abundant increase of favors and make your name famous
and distinguished, and you will be a blessing dispensing good to others'” (AMP).

The heart of God is for us to rise above average into the place where we are super abundantly supplied. To fully bring this increase we must create the
kind of environment and atmosphere that will bring the blessing of God.

Deuteronomy 11:13-14 vividly illustrates how we can bring the rain of God’s blessing upon the seed we have sown. Once that rain comes, our seed will flourish.

“And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and
with all your soul, then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain,
your new wine, and your oil” (NKJV).

Notice again the instructions: obey, love, and serve with all our heart and soul.

In looking at our love for God, we must realize that the only way we can really love Him is to realize His love for us. Notice what First John 4:10 says,
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (NKJV).

His love for us is completely unconditional and without qualification. He loves us regardless of our commitment, our performance, or our actions. He loves
us whether or not we ever love Him.

For the person who has never experienced God’s love, that kind of love is incomprehensible. Natural human love is so different. We love those who love
us, while God loves without needing any response. But He expects His love to create a response. He has faith in His love and the response
it will bring from those who receive it.

The covenant love of God is based not on an emotion but on the covenant relationship God has with man. In the Garden of Eden they had a powerful relationship
that not even sin could destroy. Notice even after Adam sinned, God entered the garden and sought His man once again.

Though they were driven out of the garden, God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins to cover their nakedness (see Genesis 3:21). God would continue to
love them even though they had destroyed their powerful relationship with Him. There is nothing we can do that will change God’s love for us!
