God Has A Plan For You

God has a specific plan for every individual to fulfill. We cannot do what God has told someone else to do and expect to be successful at it. We must look
to Jesus and find out what His desire is for us, then begin taking steps to fulfill it. That will make us successful!

Hebrews 12:1-2 says, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so
easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” It is
equally necessary to look to Jesus and not at our problems or the circumstances facing us.

The Apostle Peter gives the classic example of this principle. All the disciples were in a ship and saw Jesus walking on the water. Peter wanted to walk
on the water too, so he called out to Jesus and asked permission to come out to Him on the water.

“So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,
he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, ‘Lord, save me!’ And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to
him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?'” (Matthew 14:29-31 NKJV).

Peter began to sink because he feared what he saw. As a result, Jesus rebuked Peter because of his doubt. It was Peter’s doubt in Jesus’ ability that caused
him to look away from Jesus.

As long as Peter continued to look at Jesus, he walked on the water miraculously. As soon as he looked away, however, he sank. Once he looked back to Jesus,
he continued to walk on the water until they reached the ship.

The direction in which we look will determine the direction in which we go. If we continue to look at our problems, they will seem to grow bigger and more
overwhelming. When we look to Jesus, however, it becomes easy to believe that He wants to move in our lives.

This does not mean to suggest that we should ignore our problems and pretend that they don’t exist. Ignoring problems will never produce anything except
more problems.

When we will, with diligence, look to Jesus, He will teach us to handle the situations we face with His wisdom. He will show us the way to overcome each
and every circumstance. As we look to Him as the Source of our faith, He will direct us in applying our faith to attack every situation with His Word.

If we will believe that God has a specific plan for our individual lives, and make the determination to look to Jesus to lead us in that direction, then
we will be successful.
